Dr. Ahmed Shalabi is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with a specialist interest in advanced endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He provides expert diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, combining clinical precision with a compassionate, patient-centred approach.

Dr. Shalabi undertook his specialist gastroenterology training in London. He went on to complete an advanced endoscopy fellowship at the internationally renowned St Mark’s Hospital, a leading centre of excellence in gastrointestinal medicine and endoscopy.

His clinical expertise covers the full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and complex therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He also has extensive experience in managing patients with inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as functional and structural disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.

Dr. Shalabi regularly treats conditions including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, reflux disease, coeliac disease, Barrett’s oesophagus, iron deficiency anaemia, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, oesophagitis, dysphagia, gastrointestinal bleeding, and changes in bowel habits. He is the clinical lead for endoscopy at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust across all of it's sites (Frimley Park Hospital, Heatherwood Hospital and Wexham Park Hospital) and is a certified bowel cancer screener. He has a wealth of experience in detecting and removing colonic polyps.
